Import set
Found under: Settings > Manage your sets > Import
This allows you to import various set files such as OpenSong desktop set files, OpenSongApp set files (.osts), OpenSongApp set backups (.osbs), OpenSongApp Set Bundles (.ossb) and additionally JustChords set files (.justchords).
If you try to import a different type of file (such as a song file, PDF, Image, etc.) the app will redirect you to the Import file page.
Once you have chosen your file, you will be taken to the appropriate options for importing.
Importing a setlist file will simply show you the songs referenced in the setlist and allow you to add this to your saved sets.
Importing a set bundle will allow you to import the setlist file and additionally any song files that are included in the bundle.
Importing a set backup will allow you to select which setlist files to restore
Importing a setlist
A setlist file is a simple XML based file that simply references any songs it uses along with the preferred key of the song. It can also include embedded variation files and custom slides such as notes, images, etc.
You can rename the set before importing it and also change the set category to help you organise it.
Once you import the setlist, it will become your current set. You can choose to automatically open the set at the first item.
Importing a set bundle
Set bundles are the default (and best) way of sharing your sets with other OpenSongApp users. These files have the file extension .ossb (OpenSongSetBundle). This page is also shown if you import a JustChords set file.
When importing a set bundle you will have two tabs available to you that you can swipe between:
Setlist tab
This can be used to import the setlist file. This contains links to songs and requires them to be in your song library. Setlist files are saved in your OpenSong/Sets/ folder and can be loaded at anytime and can be later shared with other users.
You can rename the set and change the set category if required to help you better organise your sets.
A list of all currently saved sets in your OpenSong/Sets/ folder is shown at the bottom of the page and you can sort these by changing the category, or sorting alphabetically or by last edit date.
If the setlist you are trying to import already exists, you will either need to rename it or tick the 'Overwrite existing item' box.
When you import the set, it will copy it to your OpenSong/Sets/ folder and will load this as your current set. You can also choose to automatically open the first item in the set.
Click on the Import setlist button to import the setlist file.
Included songs tab
This gives you the option of importing the songs used in the setlist. They will be copied in to the OpenSong/Songs/ folder and will also be stored in the subfolder listed in the item details (MAIN simply refers to the OpenSong/Songs/ root folder).
Songs that you already have are identify by a red warning in the list and if you choose to import them, they will overwrite your existing ones. Make sure you keep a recent backup of your own song files.
Tick the songs you wish to copy and then click on the Import selected songs button.
Note that any songs you do not already have will show as 'Song not found' if you try to view it in the imported setlist if you do not import them.
