Chord settings
Found under: Settings > Song actions > Chords > Chord settings
This page allows you to set up your chord preferences for the app. Options are:
Show chords: Applies to Performance and Stage mode and allows you toggle the chord display on or off. This option is also available from the Song display page.
Show chord fingering diagrams in the song: This can be useful for beginners to show them how to play chords. The diagrams will be based on the default instrument unless a preferred instrument is set in the song. Please note that this will slow down the song processing considerably as the chord diagrams are created. You will also be more likely to have to scroll a song as the diagrams take up more space on the screen.
Capo fret as numeral: When a song with a capo is set, the app will show the capo information at the top of the screen when a song loads. By default, the fret to use for the capo is shown as a number (1, 2, 3..), but you can choose to replace this with numerals (I, II, III...).
Chord display for capo songs: Choose whether to show the capo chords only, the actual chords or both.
Autohide capo: The capo icon that displays in the song window can be set to automatically hide after a short time to help keep the song page clear. Tapping anywhere on the screen will always show extra information such as the capo information again.
Preferred chord format: This helps when setting your song key and transposing songs.
Key preferences: Here you can set your key preferences when transposing. Personally I'd always prefer reading chords in Bb rather than A#, but you can make your own preference here. If you have changed the chord format to European, Bb will be replaced with B and B will be replaced by H to match this format. This sets the preferred key output not the chords in the song! For example, you may prefer the key Ab rather than G#, but if a song is in the key of E, it may still have chords such as G#m as this key is notated using sharps.
Always assume original songs are in my preferred key: If you always use songs in one chord format, you can switch this on and set your preference. This becomes the default when transposing songs (songs are assumed to be in this format and will transposed keeping this format). Chord format options are:
Standard: C, C#/Db, D, D#/Eb, E, F, F#/Gb, G, G#/Ab, A, A#/Bb, B
Euro (B,H): C, C#/Db, D, D#/Eb, E, F, F#/Gb, G, G#/Ab, A, B, H
Euro (B, H, -is, -es): C, Cis/Des, D, Dis/Es, E, F, Fis/Ges, G, Gis/As, A, B, H
Euro (-is, -es): C, Cis/Des, D, Dis/Es, E, F, Fis/Ges, G, Gis/As, A, Ais/Bes B
Solfege: DO, DO#/REb, RE, RE#/MIb, MI, FA, FA#/SOLb ,SOL, SOL#/LAb, LA, LA#/SIb, SI
Nashville: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12
Numeral: I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII
Auto convert songs: If a song is detected as being in a different chord format, the app can try to convert it for you. Use this option with care!
